  • Spring Birding in the Okanogan Highlands - Members of the North Central Washington Audubon Chapter and other bird enthusiasts will have the opportunity May 23rd to get out into the Okanogan Highlands to enjoy the spring birds.  A great opportunity not only to observe but to count various species, the route will include varied terrain and habitats.  Two stops along the way will also provide opportunity to learn about recent OVLC conservation efforts in this area.  Folks are invited to meet at the OVLC office in Tonasket at 7:30 a.m. to team up and get a brief orientation.  Participants will need to provide their own transportation and lunch.
  • "Fire on the Landscape" - Okanogan High School Students will report on the long-term impact of fire on a forest-riparian ecosystem in Pleasant Valley after the Oden Road Fire, 2009. The presentation is the culmination of the first year of the study. Presentations will be Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Omak City Hall. 2 North Ash Street, Omak, Washington.
  • Okanogan Poems for Sale - The same poems shared at our Okanogan Poetry Evening January 30 can be yours to enjoy anytime. We have several copies of the book Okanogan Poems Vol. 1 in the office for sale at a price $15 each. Please contact the office to reserve yours today!
  • Community Outreach - The OVLC is continuely presenting to community and service groups in the Okanogan Valley and Western Ferry County. If you would like the OVLC to present to your group about our mission, vision and the conservation efforts going on in the valley or would like to participate in the outreach, please call the office at the number below.
